Nissan making plans for their third and fourth EV model. You might be asking yourself - what are the other two? Of course, there's the Nissan Leaf. Let us not forget the upcoming NV200 delivery van. So, what's next for Nissan EV?
One option is an electric sports car or coupe. Other auto makers have seen success with hybrid and electric EV two-door vehicles. Nissan introduced their Esflow Concept last year, which featured a sporty design. Pivo 3, a tiny concept car, might also be an option. This EV, battery operated car, was shown off at the recent Tokyo Motor Show.
Another alternative is the Townpod EV Concept. This small minivan provides easy access via side-sliding doors and mass amounts of cargo space. Experts believe this is the best option, as Americans are partial to minivans and utility vehicles.
However, it seems that Nissan already has an idea of its course: "It will be a city car," says Andy Palmer, Nissan Motors executive VP for vehicle planning and program management. "It will be in the A/B segment. The car would have to be low-cost. It would be a vehicle where you could potentially accept less range, so you could have a smaller battery."1
