If Nissan wasn't busy before, they certainly will be for the next six years! Nissan created a new business plan dubbed "Nissan Power 88" which means many exciting new models from Nissan. On July 27 the new business plan is set to take action.

Get psyched! Nissan's new six-year business plan, "Nissan Power 88" underlines exciting times ahead for Nissan enthusiasts. And while it was announced only a short time ago, on July 27, it's effective immediately.

At a high level, "Nissan Power 88" is designed to enhance the company's brand, sales power enhancement, growth, sustainability and expand mobility across the globe. What does this mean for consumers, exactly?

Well, to start: one new Nissan model, every six weeks, for six years. No, we weren't sensationalizing the title. And such an aggressive production schedule will grow Nissan's global lineup to 66 different vehicles and address nearly 100 percent of all auto markets and industry segments worldwide, in 2016.

Other "Nissan Power 88" strategies, include:

-          Introduce 15 new, advanced technologies per year, 2011-2016
-          Expand "mobility for all" with new entry-level cars and  light commercial vehicles, and a stronger focus on emerging geos
-          Develop sustainable technologies and vehicles that support PURE DRIVE
-          Heavily contribute to Renault-Nissan Alliance's cumulative 1.5-million-unit EV sales  goal
-          Add a new plant in Brazil
-          Expand Infiniti brand
-          Establish Nissan as an industry leader in the light commercial vehicle vertical
-          And more

According to Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO, Nissan,  "'Nissan Power 88' is the roadmap for our company's profitable growth. We will accelerate our growth, bringing more innovation and excitement to our products and services as well as cleaner, more affordable cars for everyone around the world, in line with the energy and environment challenges of the 21^st century."¹

When all is said and done, Nissan hopes to attain eight percent market share and grow its corporate operating profits by eight percent, by fiscal year 2016... hence the business plan name, "Nissan Power 88".
